Our Mission

Transforming our community through creative connection

In market towns, in villages, in farm buildings and spare rooms. In studios above shops and sheds at the end of gardens. It lives in Malton, across Ryedale, and throughout North Yorkshire.

You Will Be C.I.C. is a Malton-based Community Interest Company working across Ryedale and North Yorkshire to create and support cultural events, creative projects and community-led programmes that strengthen connection and increase access to the arts .

We are not an events company. We are a community anchor.

100% of our profits are reinvested back into Malton and the wider Ryedale community.

Values

The heart of what we do

Ryedale is creative but underrepresented. Rural and geographically dispersed. Proud of its heritage. Strongly independent. Often underserved by mainstream arts funding. We know our community needs...

Affordable &
Accessible Events

Free or low-cost cultural experiences designed for families across Malton and Ryedale.

Visibility for
Rural Artists

High-visibility platforms that help local creatives exhibit, connect and build sustainable income.

Youth & Family Engagement

Creative experiences that welcome young people and families into cultural life close to home.

Increased High Street Vitality

Public art and events that drive footfall and support independent businesses.

Opportunities for Collaboration

Partnerships between artists, schools, businesses and funders to strengthen local culture.
Our projects are built around these realities. When families attend free family-friendly events in North Yorkshire, they experience culture close to home.

When artists exhibit locally, they build confidence, income and recognition. When high streets host public art, businesses benefit from increased footfall and longer dwell time.

When funding is secured, it stays here — reinvested into Malton and Ryedale. This is cultural regeneration rooted in place, not imported programming.

Mission

Restoring heritage, inspiring creativity

We are restoring the Old Parish Hall on Spiral Street in Malton as a living space for creativity, culture and community.

This historic building will become a welcoming home for exhibitions, performances, workshops and events — preserving local heritage while creating new opportunities for artists, families and visitors across Ryedale.

Every stage of the restoration is about safeguarding the past and opening the door to what comes next.

Events

What's happening in Malton & Ryedale

Across the year, we deliver a growing programme of Malton events, Ryedale events and wider North Yorkshire arts initiatives designed to make culture visible and accessible.

A free public art trail running across Malton from May to October, with sculpture installations also sited in Dalby Forest year-round.

This outdoor art trail in Yorkshire transforms familiar streets into an open-air gallery. It increases footfall, encourages exploration of independent businesses, and gives artists the chance to exhibit at scale — in town and forest environments. It’s accessible, family-friendly and dog-friendly, and completely free to experience.
